We believe that the performance arts are an exciting way of stimulating creativity and developing excellent communication skills. These valuable life-skills will also help young people to be articulate speakers, and assertive when necessary, to have the edge in this highly competitive world.
We live in an exciting world of technology where computers abound in most homes and schools, where many children have become more computer literate than their parents and schools have large budgets to develop technology. Within this fast-moving world, many children lack the essential communication skills to push themselves forward. Success in later in life is often dependent on our development as a child. Developing sound verbal communication skills, in the early years, where we are able to put our case forward in this ever-demanding world is paramount to unlocking the world in which we live.
Releasing a child’s creative and expressive potential through drama is a key to a child’s healthy development. By developing children’s confidence and self-esteem, the curriculum of the Helen O’Grady Drama Academy allows each and every child to fulfill their potential by developing verbal communication skills in a fun-filled environment.
The Helen O'Grady Drama System has now become the largest worldwide drama school of its kind. With an extensive curriculum, dynamic teachers and easily accessible venues, this is a truly community-based organisation, with a strong emphasis on the care of all its students.
Students attend fast moving classes for one hour a week, according to their specific age-group. Parents Days and an annual Production allow parents and guardians to see first-hand the progress of the students.
The right class for your child!
The ability to deal with people confidently, the ability to answer in full sentences, and the ability to engage a room full of people, are skills which are absolutely key to any child’s development.
These are skills that don’t always come naturally, but they are skills that can be learned by anyone, and the earlier a person starts to learn, the better.
When it comes to your child’s development you always want the best. That is why we at Helen O’Grady try to provide the skills that children need in a fun way, which will also be appealing for you, their parents. We provide a list of benefits to our parents, which will show what we can help your children to achieve during their school life.
However, while our parents pay for the classes, it’s your children who will be attending them. That’s why we pack all of our sessions with fun, laughter and excitement and it is not uncommon for our children to stay with us for many years.
Surely there’s no better recommendation of our drama classes than that!
